I found a website called ProductHunt.com and this is what I think about it!
What is Product Hunt?
ProductHunt is a website that serves two types of people: those who are making new products, and those looking to explore them. Each day, people from around the world add their products, hoping to become trendy or viral. The website has an average 7.5 million visits last year!
You can check its statistics here.
The website looks like this:
How Does It Work?
Anyone is allowed to share their own product. All you need is a name, a logo and a link. The products are added automatically when you submit it. Then, it rises to the top by the amount of votes it gets, called “Upvotes.” You can see the total number of Upvotes for each product in a big orange button.
Every day, Product Hunt sees the top products of the day, and gives them a badge forever. Then, they send an email to all the community with the Most Upvoted Products of the Day.
Everyone who posts on Product Hunt is trying to get to that top.
Each product also has its own profile, and you can add comments or if you’ve tried the product, you can add a review.
How Can Egyptian Startups Use Product Hunt?
If we go back to the statistics of Product Hunt, we find that It is known mainly in USA, India and some European countries. Certainly, this has a bright and dark side.
The dark side. If you are looking for Egyptian audience then it is not your destination as it is not really known in this country.
The bright side. It is really good for startups that want to go global due to the high reach from many countries in North America, Asia and Europe.
Startups Galaxy Role
Egypt is not one of the main countries using Product Hunt. However, Startups Galaxy can be pretty much a better alternative in this case. It aims to introduce startups to the people and benefit both: Egyptian startups struggle on reaching to their customers by many ways which really distracts them as much as the customers.
