Will Uber Eats compete with Otlob and other food deliveries in Egypt?
According to Recode, a popular technology news website in the US, people in the US are now spending on Uber Eats more than any other food delivery service and we’re guessing that’s probably going to happen in Egypt too!

What’s special about Uber Eats in Egypt are 3 things:
-
Order food from your favorite local restaurant that don’t deliver.
This is an awesome advantage over other food apps like Otlob, for example, Uber Eats promises a diverse range of restaurants and food places that don’t necessarily have a delivery fleet available.
-
Pay with your Uber account.
A lot of us have an Uber account now. Especially those who have decided to let the car go. For those specific people who do have an existing Uber account, you do not need to create another one. Uber Eats automatically grabs your data, location and even your credit card details. Scary, but makes things a lot faster and definitely easier!
-
Track the whole process through the app.
Check your food options, make your order, pay and finally track your food location from the minute your food is ready to get delivered! It also provides all the information on the delivery courier depending on whether it’s by bike, scooter or car. Which makes it much easier for them to reach you and vise versa!
Uber Eats also features food from local chefs or restaurants that want to increase their publicity but don’t have the tools to do so on their own, or even local individuals who don’t physically own a restaurant! Which is great because that’s something we need in Egypt!
However… Unfortunately, Uber Eats hasn’t fully launched in Greater Cairo. They’re currently only available in Giza. We’ll update you when we get some news, but also you can check out your location specifically on their website map.
