Scene from The Intern Movie
Take a look at this picture above. It’s from the movie The Intern. These two are interns sitting in the workplace where each one of them wears different styles. Robert De Niro (on the left) wears a suit and the other one is wearing complete casual clothes. Both are really comfortable with their choices. That that is the sum up of the article. Basically. A Day In a Multinational Imagination…
I am going to need your imagination a bit here. You are up at 7 AM every morning except the two days of the weekend. Go to work at 9 AM, arriving on time. Sit on your desk’s chair and open your mail. Go to meeting at 11 AM. Complete your tasks. Have lunch, then returning back to your desk for a couple of hours. Ohh, it’s 5 PM it’s time for family or your friends. You leave your work and any other responsibilities related. You are secure and you have a good CV to go to any other company in the future. The company gives out chocolate boxes for a celebration, so you pick it up before you go home.
So this is life in multinational company (MNC), the italic words represent it mostly.
A Day In a Startup Imagination…
You are up at 10 AM on Monday, and on Tuesday you are up at 11 AM. Mostly because you were up all las night until 10 PM at work sitting on your bean bag, finishing tasks on a project of your own ideas that you are totally responsible of. You just finished a meeting with the CEO brainstorming on innovative ideas, and s/he is a young person like you. The whole company can fit intone room, and everybody is supporting you to finish that milestone. It’s going to be a great milestone for everybody. You love what you are doing and you stick to no routine. There aren’t any gifts to take home, and you put your hands in your pocket and there isn’t that much in your wallet. You go home to chill and take the next day working from home.
This is how Startups work, the bold words can tell. Sometimes it doesn’t pay that well, but it provides more flexibility and you can take on challenges that will teach you a lot.
That’s mainly how it works for startups and MNCs (Multinational). In the fight of startup vs multinational, choose your favourite!
➡️You want a secure, routine, social life then go for starting a career at an MNC and work hard to get promoted!
➡️If flexibility, working a 7-10 hours a day on something you 100% own and love, then startups would be lucky to have you.
