The Arab Startup Competition (ASC) established by MIT Enterprise Forum since 2006 on a yearly basis. It is a great opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs that could have a huge impact on the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem, especially in the Arab Region! There are usually three different tracks during the ASC. Ideas, Startups and Social Entrepreneurship.

Who, When, What, WHERE: Here’s What You Need To Know!
For those looking for an opportunity to showcase, test, develop their creative ideas no matter what it is, this is a great opportunity for you! We think this is a huge opportunity for Arabs that have an idea and want to take it to the next step. This is a chance for you to hopefully shape the entrepreneurial frame in the Arab Region!
The time-frame of the competition will be from September 24, 2018 to April 4, 2019 and the final event will be held in Beirut. The deadline for submitting an application is 10 December 2018.
The teams that qualify for the semi-finals go through a diverse range of workshops, coaching, mentoring and training sessions. 3 winners for each mentioned track (Ideas, Startups and Social Entrepreneurship track) will be crowned winners in the finals and can win up to $160,000!

In this competition in specific, MIT partnered with a wide range of companies. This included Community Jameel as well as transportation partner with Careem and knowledge partner with Roland Berger.
Besides the competition. MIT has been involved in a great sum of initiatives to support entrepreneurs in the region like the Innovation Forum. Innovate for Refugees: a competition that drives solutions to address the challenges faced by refugees. And ‘The Arab World Meets Silicon Valley’ program.
