My name is Hassan and I fell in love with startups!
I’ve got 8 years of experience in customer service and the last 9 months helping startups manage and improve their customer operations. I’ve recently decided to start my own business and I now call myself an entrepreneur in the build! Let me tell you my story, and how I discovered Fekretak Sherketak
The Challenges
I have no mentorship or guidance, and therefore had to entrepreneurship the old way. First, I started following every person, page, or institution. Then, I registered for every event that’s related to startups. I actually did attend, and I’ve Googled every new name or term I heard. That consumed a huge amount of time, and money and was a complete hassle.
Now I’m going share some tips to give you guys aspiring to start your own business a more efficient start than mine,. Before that, I wanna tell you the most important tip. Everything, and especially starting your own business is not about the end result, but rather the journey. You’ll get a whole new mindset, learn skills you never thought you would, and get exposed to a whole new world that you knew nothing about! A world that’s full of knowledge, challenges, and some of the coolest and brightest people you’ll ever meet!
The Start
Start with an idea, and your idea can be a startup or a company, you should know the difference between both, you can Google, or later in the article know where you can get an answer to that!
Once you get the idea, go to Udacity and take that course How to build a Startup by Steve Blank,. The link for the course is right here. You’ll actually get to know how to create a Business Model Canvas. Remember that tool, you’re going to hear it a thousand times.
Now, you need to have a team if you don’t have one already. After being able to put your idea into a business model you’ll be more capable of selling your idea to others including your future team members, I got to close mine at a business boot camp that I was attending.
The Place To Go
I found out about Fekretak Sherketak and I decided to visit them. I was amazed to know about it and more amazed to know it’s a governmental institute. Their website is right here. So once you’re done with the idea, the course, and the business model, or even before, head to them: Fekretak Sherketak office. You’ll find a bunch of very decent and cool people.
Fekretak Sherketak offers a lot of free services including:
1. Advice on starting your company (Including legal stuff) that used to cost a lot back in the old days.
2. Training and workshops. They make sure to hire the best training companies.
3. Government Support. There’s lots of benefit in that one.
4. Advice on Fundraising. How to compare the best sources of fund.
5. Mentorship,. They helped me draft my very first business model canvas.
6. Coworking Space. It has a free internet access as well.
Here’s a video about them too:
